Northern Constitution newspaper (formerly the Coleraine Constitution) offices (now privately owned). Constructed 1900-1919
An asymmetrical, attached two-storey-with-attic late Victorian red-brick office building, with gabled north and east elevations. Located on a corner site between Railway Road and Mill Street, to the east of The Diamond, Coleraine.
Removal of inappropriate cementitious pointing, brick replacement with reclaimed brick sourced to match existing. Removal of failing concrete heads and replacement with Peak Moor stone. Taking down and rebuilding dangerous sections of brickwork (carefully saving and re-using original brick). Indent repair of damaged stonework. Stone replacement. Removal and re-building of slipped kneeler stones. Rebuilding and s/steel doweling of terracotta angled ridge-tiles and finials to gables. Rebuilding of chimneys. Mortar repairs to damaged brickwork. Careful deconstruction and rebuilding of damaged section of brick archway at pedestrian entrance. Heritage, thermal clean of brick and stonework on completion of works.
